go to the patterns section, click on view to see the pattern, click on gif to see the picture. Select your pattern and save it on your computer. In this tutorial I will use pattern o52

open pattern o52 with photoshop, then click on Edit , then Define Pattern. Open a new file, choose the paint bucket tool, then select pattern instead of foreground (at the top). Then choose the pattern you have just created. Click on the page and you will fill it with the pattern. This could be a background to your art.

you can be more creative and use the pattern in various ways, for instance you could create a shape and fill this area with the pattern. [ click below ]

you could use it as an overlay:

open a photo of your choice, here I chose this one [click]

create a new layer, and fill it with the pattern.

change the various blending options of your pattern layer. Here are a few possible results:

the effect chosen could be decorative or give a texture to your art.

You could also create frames and borders, by filling an area and cutting out the inside, or selecting an area and filling it. [ click ] to see examples.
